Grassroots uptake
For this assignment right from the start was a little different for me because Daelyn,
Diego, and myself wanted to work together again for this assignment but initially none of us
agreed on any topics of what to do our article on. After running into that large first hiccup we all
got together to talk at the library to figure out what we should do as our topic.
During our conversation when we were all together and the idea of Nike was put out I
realized that all of us had an article of Nike clothing on and from there we had it as our topic.
Initially, though I was in much support for the Nike idea to relate it to CHAT because I was
worried about turning it into a report genre, not a grassroots article. The worry quickly had to go
away since it was the one topic we all were fine with so I had to get myself in a mental space to
look back at my past and current self to see what I liked about Nike then analyze what I like and
see how Nike used CHAT to do those things. I found my new favorite thing about Nike thinking
