Subject: Proposal to Research Ways to Improve the Quality of Drinking Water in Rwanda
Purpose
The purpose of this proposal is to request permission and funds for researching ways in which
the quality of drinking water from Rwanda can be improved. Human rights emphasize that
everyone has the right to health. It is unfortunate that not everyone has favorable conditions that
promotes good health. Water is one of the most essential things to have in life that contribute to
health, growth, and more wellness. Once Rwandans will get access to clean water, they will be
able to improve their overall health. After careful research of this problem, my team and I will be
able to identify and state the approach that the population of Rwanda can best use to improve
their situation of lack of access to clean water.
Background
Rwanda is a developing, land locked country located in East Africa. Being a land locked country
implies that its economy is highly dependent on its neighboring countries. Being economically
unstable is a major challenge that affects the population in general and in this case, it affects the
population’s access to clean drinking water. Research shows that drinking unclean water may
lead to illness or death. In Rwanda, waterborne diseases continue to be major diseases that cause
death, as one third of the country lacks access to clean water since the majority of people in rural
