1. Describe the five stage decision making process.
When it comes to problem solving, a decision making process may help employees make
more informed decisions. Effective decision making could possibly help an organization
implement strategies efficiently and reach overall goals. In the decision making process there are
five stages. These stages include: intelligence, design, choice, implementation, and monitoring.
The intelligence, design and choice stages is the three stages part of the decision making phase.
During decision making phase, the intelligence stage is when one is to identify and define
potential problems or opportunities. During design, alternative solutions to the problem are
developed and then their feasibility can be evaluated. After testing out each solution, that is when
in the choice stage, a course of action is chosen in order to move forward with one solution. After
the decision making phase, the problem solving phase occurs. This phase goes beyond decision
