Part 1: Leave No Trace Project
1. Cottages- If you stay over night at a state park or visit an attraction, you may not be loud
and you are required to keep your noise to a minimum. If you bring your pet along then your
pet is expected to stay quiet and if anyone complains about you or your pert being too noisy,
then you will be asked to leave the park. LNT principle: be considerate of other visitors
2. Smoking- Smoking is prohibited in all park facilities and buildings and you will be asked to
leave the park area or building if you are caught smoking. LNT principle: respect wildlife
3. Fires- When you make a campfire, it must stay in the fire ring and you must be watching the
fire and attending the fire at all times. You must keep the fire small due to safety issues and
when you leave, make sure you put out the fire and smother it with dirt to make sure no
sparks are left. LNT principle: Minimize campfire impacts
4. Pets- Pets are allowed in the park as long as you keep watch over them at all times. All pets
must be kept on a leash at all times & it is required that you clean up after your pet. LNT
principle: Dispose of waste properly & be considerate of other visitors
5. Collecting- All wildlife, plant life, and also rocks may not be disturbed. If you see an animal
on your visit then you must leave it alone and by all means you may not feed it. LNT
principle: Leave what you find
Part 2:
1. Pick up America: This organization helps the earth in a tremendous way. It educates people
to pick up after themselves and always clean up their trash or waste anywhere they go.
Wildlife and earth is deteriorating slowly because people are not considerate of the earth or
wild life and just feel like they can just throw trash away on the ground. This organization is
apart of 2 of the LNT principles. It’s apart of the “respect wildlife” principle and the “dispose
of waste properly” principle. These principles are important to the earth because if the earth
gets covered in trash then the environment is not healthy and clean which effects your
