Fred Bailey: An Innocent Abroad

Fred Bailey is a family man working for a large international company called Kline and
Associates. To open up the case study, it describes Fred Bailey looking out of a beautiful window from
his twenty-fourth office of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo where he has just recently been assigned to
move for a promotion. Then the story goes back 7 months prior to the moment his manager in Boston
offers him the 3-year job in Tokyo. At first Fred is stuck between wanting to accept the job and go to
Tokyo and staying put in Boston where his two children and wife have been living. One thing that
would have made it tough for Fred to pass up is the fact that he would become the manager being in
