The Four Feminist Waves
The feminist movement has been defined in “waves” since the first beginning in the 19th
century, followed by the second during the 20th century. This started because of the long battle
that women had to fight in order to get equality in society. They had to advocate for their dignity,
intelligence, and basic human potential of the female sex. However, it was not until the late
nineteenth century that the efforts for women’s equal rights coalesced into a clearly identifiable
