INTRODUCTION
Several times during the past decade, oil prices have reached record highs, pouring
petrodollars into the Middle East.
We did exams in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates to find why some
foreign companies invested there.
The companies include:
Barclays (UK)
Credit Suisse (Swiss)
Robeco (Dutch)
FedEx (U.S.)

INTRODUCTION
We foucsed on three objectives:
To show how laws, requirements, and regulations have changed and become more
receptive to foreign investment in recent years by comparing several business
environmental characteristic indices and their change over time.
