Beyond the viewing and funeral services of an individual, casket construction is the
foundation of what will keep both the decomposing body and earth safe following proper
burial. For this reason, it is important to research the construction of a casket and consider all
options when buying or selling a casket. Although caskets cannot provide impermeable
protection for bodies, they serve as a barrier between the body and the outside elements. The
outside design of caskets are basically universal, however, the engineering behind the
construction of a casket may go into great detail.

who is making the casket purchase for their loved one who has passed. Some family members
do tend to care about the durability and protectiveness of a casket more than others. For those
that care greatly, it is important to provide them with all of the details of a casket, whether
metal or wood, such as whether the casket contains a rubber gasket for it to seal, as well as the
size of the casket, as larger than average caskets are available if needed.
