In this article the main issue was that there are many football ads that fail to score. It
stated that marketers sometime forget that the best ads can be simple, direct, and straight to
the point. Lately that have been opposite, complex and confusing when you have commercial
advertising a product, but the ad has too much going on it’s easy to get wrapped in the
presentation and forget what’s being presented. Some companies are forced to have simple
ads like GM so it’s straight to the point of what they’re selling. On page 160 in the text book it
talks about customer behavior, this is the process involved when individuals or groups select,
purchase, use and dispose of goods, services, ideas, or experiences to satisfy their needs and
desires. So, in the ads the markets are trying to appeal to the customer’s behavior. This is a type
of strategy for markets to appeal to customers the easiest way. The author of this article feel
like there were a lot of super bowl and that were stupid and unfunny complicated and too
elaborate. To summarize good ads are simple and direct and bad ads aren’t.
