Fish
This book was about workplace environment and choosing how you approach your work.
It starts out with a lady who moves to Seattle for her husband relocating for business and
finds herself working as a manager at a large bank firm. After the first year upon relocating
Mary Jane (the girl who relocates) finds her husband sick and ends up passing away. She
has two kids and she is supporting her family now as a single mother working as a
manager at a job where she is afraid to fail so she doesn’t take any chances on advancing
in her workplace. She gets promoted and finds herself at the department where in her
company has a bad reputation for being a stale work environment (toxic waste zone of
energy).
Mary Jane is now at a place in her career where she is uncomfortable with her co-workers
and her boss because of the “lack of energy” in her department. Mary Jane finds herself
not wanting to eat lunch in the business cafeteria because all she hears now from the other
co-workers from different departments, she finds herself going down to the waterfront now
for lunch. One day she ventures to the famous fish market and meets an un-suspected
mentor who teaches her four life lessons about brining energy to the workplace.
