Topic: Does Advertising help or harm us?
Obviously, people love watching TV a lot, and some of us spend plenty of time watching their
favorite movies programs. But while they are watching TV, there are a lot advertisements pop up and
interrupt their attention from their TV program. I don’t really like it, and I believe they don’t love
advertising either. Advertising mains arm to promote their businesses, so I think it’s more harmful us.
One of the reasons advertising is harmful—it aims to persuade us buying their products. It’s very
persuasive and sometimes even promote something we don’t want to buy by exaggerating features and
benefits of a product. Examples, a smart phone has features and weaknesses part, but as they ad on the
TV or any social medias, they said all about how it looks, features, benefits, and all special aspects, not
show off all about it’s weakness parts. So I think advertising is a just a trap for those who spend a lot pf
time watching it.
Second, advertising turns the world into a fake environment. It mostly provides fake information in
term of appearance. When I see a video of advertising about food on TV, it seems like really good, fresh,
and natural, but the reality it’s not as good as an advertising. In advertising there are always marketers
who understand people’s mind or market trending to decorate and edit every picture and video before
posting. By the time you are watching those advertisements you will be more interactive with it, and you
sometimes want to try it off. And when you try it, it means you are trapped.
Last but not least, advertising provides variety of information. All advertisings are not always good to
know, or even sometimes it is inappropriate. I don’t think beer/alcohol companies should advertise on
TV, social media and billboard, because it’s harmful for children and youth. When it can be advertise
widely, it triggers people think about it more and more, and they more they drink, the more criminals
