Part 1:
Throughout this course, creativity and reflection have been two major
components in understanding and practicing the concepts that we covered in this course.
The reflections have mainly been focused on one personal point of view and ones
personal point of view in regard to one major. Although these may seem like they would
have the same answer most of the time, they actually highly vary. This may be because
people feel different about their personal feelings than they may do about what is best for
their career in their industry. For example one might have a more of liberal and socialistic
type of political tendencies but they may work in the construction industry, which tends
to be about making more money for themselves rather than distributing the profits more
equally.
From all the lessons that were covered in the class it is very difficult to pick a top
three. My first one would have to be from the lecture the Thursday of week 3. I added
this class late so I missed the first week of classes so I was really confused on how the
class structure worked and then when I came in, not realizing what the class covered.
Then on Thursday I got a much better picture of the class and one point that really stuck
out to me was how the roles of each person in a team directly impacts the performance of
the team. Sure everyone knows this concept but during this lecture I came to understand
this concept much better and how the work of each teammate directly correlates to the
other teammates. This concept impacted my point of view in regard to my major because
as I am pursuing a degree in Industrial Distribution Engineering, I know how much
teamwork has to go into projects and this helped me understand how to better manage a
team embarking on a rigorous project.
