Most people living on this planet have one main agenda throughout their life: the pursuit of
truth, or knowledge. Many people depend solely on faith, others on reason. Some people even put all of
their hope in imagination in their pursuit of truth. When searching for the right path to take for one’s
own search, one must understand the difference in their three options, what each one means and which
one is right for them. In this essay, I will explain these things and let the reader decide which path is the
correct path for them. First, however, it is important to understand what “truth” actually is. Truth may
mean many things to different people, but it all comes down to understanding. In searching for “truth,
you are searching for answers and understanding to life, yourself and everything around you.
To use faith in the pursuit of truth means to depend on a higher power of some sort. To people
relying on faith, they usually see Jesus as the truth. “When we read and study the Bible, we are actually
pursuing Jesus in the pages,” (Ryan Burgett, The Pursuit of Truth, 2012). When using faith in search for
