When it comes to managing my finances, that has always been something that I have struggled
with. I have never tried setting a personal budget and sticking to it. I really enjoyed reading the
information provided to us this week. I have had a personal banking account since I began
working when I was 15. I am currently paying on my car and working toward getting that paid
off. Currently I do not have major expenses due to not having a steady income because of
school. The things I enjoyed reading was the basic guidelines for college students. Readying
through these tips I thought they were very insightful for what a young person going into
college should be prepared for. When a student goes off to college one of the first things, they
want to do is get a credit card. However, what they sometimes do not realize is how quickly
they can spend that money and the bind that it can put on them while trying to pay off the
card. Setting a monthly budget can greatly benefit a college student. Knowing what amount of
money, they are able to make can help them to know what they are able to spend. Through this
course I have realized that setting a budget can help you to keep track of your money and to be
able to not spend everything you make.
