Final Paper
So many countries to choose from because everyone is so different and unique in it’s own
way. While looking through the map of the world you can see that there are 195 countries. The
one that stuck out to me was the Domincan Republic.
The Domincan Republic is very intriguing to me because of the spanish culture and how
rich it is. When people watch baseball, they can see that a lot of professional baseball players
come out of the Domincan Republic. This is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to learn their
culture because of baseball history. One other big reason is that they are in the Caribbean right
next to another bordering island, Cuba, which is another spanish country and both are fairly close
to the state of Florida. So, if I visit Florida anytime soon, I can meet some Domincan people and
have an understanding of what they are doing and what they are doing it for instead of just
wondering what they are doing it. I can understand some of the spanish language as well so that
can help me pick up what they are saying.
Since the Domincan Republic is an Island in the Caribbean, the scenery is beautiful and it
is a tropical paradise. The natural resources in the Dominican range from a lot of variants of
rocks and minerals. The embassy of the Dominican Republic states that, “country abounds in
gold, silver, amber, larimar, ferronickel, bauxite, coal, tin, marble, salt, gypsum, and stone.”
