The Republic of Bolivarian Venezuela is currently undergoing a revolution within the
country due to the dictatorship it has been under with leaders such as Hugo Chavez and Nicholas
Maduro. However, how the government has gone about implementing policies has caused much
distrust and displeasure from the country and its indigenous people. This distrust has called for
reform and social movements which have occurred and have turned into violent riots. So what
types of developmental theories and approaches have taken place in Venezuela and how have
these approaches affected the social inequalities?
However, before digging into the research question, here is a brief history of Venezuela
to provide some information. The region of Venezuela, pre-Colombian era, included a variety of
