In the film Thank You for Smoking, it shows how the media, businesses and governments
cooperate to affect the consumers. Nick Naylor, the main character of the film, knows that he is
working for an organization that kills one thousand two hundred human beings a day by
promoting cigarettes but he’s supporting it because it’s his job. Nick Naylor is the face of the
company and gets paid to talk. He is trying to create a positive image for the company. When the
film started he argued that the company wouldn’t profit off of the loss of the cancer boy, if
anything their company would be losing a customer. He is basically indicating that why would
the company want to make harmful products that would kill off their consumers. The film
practically portrays a realistic picture of the role of the PR for corporations. People think that
credibility is an important part of PR, but in this movie, it shows how a well-constructed
