Field Trip Reflection
In the third and sixth weeks, I visited Cabbagetown and Ward’s Island in Toronto
with my classmates under the leadership of my professor respectively. Also, they are
both beautiful and greeny places that impressed me.
Firstly, we went to Cabagetown on week 3, and then we met at the edge of
Riverdale Park West to record our participation. One of the impressing things was that
while the professor was telling us about the history of Cabbagetown, a super cute
squirrel came up to me and allowed me to watch and appreciate the squirrel closely.
Moreover, Cabagetown is a quiet and peaceful place filled with green plants and
various detached and semi–detached houses; there are some shops and restaurants as
well, but it is full of the atmosphere of nature. Furthermore, I visited RIVERDALE
FARM next to the park. The farm is very large and includes several parts, and there is
a variety of lovely animals and colourful and plants. On week 6, we visited Ward’s
Island which is on the east side of the Toronto Islands. When I got to the destination
by boat, I saw some white swans black ducks played beside the soft gray beach. Also,
there are less shops and restaurants here, but there are many infrastructure and lots of
residential areas. Moreover, it is a natural and peaceful with lots of plants and
transparent water, and it is suitable for people who love the sea and the beach.
However, one of negative features is that the transportation between the island and the
outside world are only traveled by boat, and each ship needs to wait for about an hour
or more.
Overall, Cabbagetown has more shops and restaurants, and it is more convenient
