The role of the RAWA in protecting women’s rights
Feminism in Afghanistan is very different from feminism in other, more open and
democratic countries. Until 2014, women in Afghanistan could not go out and strike or freely
share their ideas and thoughts on television or radio. The major problems of it are here: the
primacy of religion over the law, cultural traditions and the eastern worldview and the human
fear of being beaten or killed. The movement of feminism in Afghanistan began at the beginning
of the last century and continues to this day.
In the history of all countries, the head of the family has always been a man. If you look at
the origins of history, then the man, because he is physically strong, was getting food, the
woman was sitting at home and raising children. With the uprise of the first states, they were
men who went to war to protect their home, their people. Barbaric campaigns, the Mongol-Tatar
invasion, rarely in the historical books we can see girls-warriors and girls-conquerors. Women
did not take part in the decision of their destinies; the word of men is law. With the development
of society, women began to feel more and more injustice in the difference between the rights of
