FEMALES ARE STILL NOT LOOKED AT AS EQUAL 1
Females are still not Looked at as Equals

saying about my career direction” a quote from Meg Whitman. This quote is something that all
parents say to their children especially their daughters, because as adults we know society is
going to change the daughters of this world more than they [society] will their sons. Society has
changed a lot over the years and back in 1973 there was more of a society shun on females then
there is now. But still now in the 21st century there is still a fight for equal rights for females.
Business females are still fighting in a world that holds females to an old society standers. “In
2012, women held just 3.8% of Chief Executive Officer positions in Fortune 500 companies, and
90 out of 535 seats in US Congress.” (Bailey, 2014) “At the lowest levels, more than half of the
employees in organizations are female. As you move to each successively higher level in the
organization, the number of women steadily shrinks.” (Sherwin, 2014) But why is that? Why are
women not taking on the higher up in management positions? Is there some key to success that
only men have? Or have society pushed women so far down that there is no way for women to
take on a higher management position?
The question is always who is more superior men or woman. Society sees this on the
playground with children when they are in competition with one another. “According to a survey
conducted by Chris Bart, professor of strategic management at the DeGroote School of Business
at McMaster University, and Gregory McQueen, a McMaster graduate and senior executive
associate dean at Still University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine, women actually run better
