When thinking of big successful companies, I assume that they are started by educated
people who are already successful in life. But this is not always the case. According to the FedEx
website, the company FedEx was established by Fredrick W. Smith in 1965. He wrote a company
plan for the sending of time-sensitive shipments in his term paper. Then in 1971, the name
“Federal Express” was created to be the name of the said company. The name was established
because they were trying to get the loan from Federal Reserve Bank and “federal” was associated
with “nationwide.” Reaching nationwide was a main goal of the company. Despite that Federal
Reserve Bank denied the request, the name was not changed. The company was then not
