Goals for Country living/ Farm life theme:

Students will learn about farm animals and crops in a farm and be able to identify the animals.
Learn different sounds on the farm. (Example cows "MOO")
Share farm experiences as a group in circle time in order to make children more social.
Have children color and cut out their favorite farm animal which will work on their physical and
cognitive and emotional.
Act out Old Macdonald in a play by the children.
Create correlations between farm life and everyday life.

Students enter the classroom and choose how they would like to
be greeted. Then, they put away their belongings, find their name
card to sign-in, wash their hands and choose an activity.
08:00-08:30
Students self-select a tub. The tubs include hands-on activities
such as puzzles, play dough, Lego Duplo, Potato Heads and more.
They may work with a friend if they choose.
08:30-09:00
Students will engage in a read-aloud, music and movement using
songs, rhymes, and finger plays.
09:30-10:00
Students will self-select areas in the classroom they wish to
explore. Literacy enters include art, dramatic play, listening,
alphabet, reading, storytelling, and writing. The teacher may work
with small groups on specific literacy skills during this time.

Snack time
10:30-11:00
Students will self-select areas on the playground or in the gym
that they wish to explore. During this time students are exercising
their gross motor skills by running, jumping, hopping, climbing,
crawling, sliding, balancing and more.
11:00-11:30
Students will engage in a read-aloud, followed by independent
practice (small groups.) During independent practice students will
use manipulatives such as cubes, counters etc. to practice the
math skill exemplified in the read aloud. The teacher may work
with small groups on specific math skills during this time.

Objectives of the activity: Children will cut circles, triangles, and create a chicken out of
construction paper and shapes.
The children will:
Construct a chicken out of triangles and circles.
Demonstrate their gross motor skills when cutting shapes.
Materials needed:
Yellow construction paper with 1 Large circles drawn on them.
Orange construction paper with1 medium triangle drawn on it.
White construction paper with 2 medium circles drawn on it.
Black construction paper with 2small circles drawn on it.
