Picture rolling green hills, fresh air, and cold showers. Do you feel the hard and dusty
terrain as you walk to the markets, and the hot sun on your neck? This is the El Salvador I’ve
known since I was a child. I’ve been to El Salvador about 30 times now. My mother’s side of the
family lives in a beautiful mansion settled into the hills, overlooking the crowns of treetops as
birds zip by. It was in El Salvador where my mother met my father and moved to the United
States of America.
