Failed Banks Dataset Research Report
The dataset I chose to research is failed bank list that posted on data.gov, created by FDIC. It
gathered all failed banks’ names, locations, dates of bankruptcy and the names of their acquiring
institutions in United States since Oct 1st, 2000.
The development and trend of banks has been played an key role in the financial industry, and the
financial industry is the core of modern economy due to its particular character and function.
Basically, if the financial system of a country runs effectively, the collection and trading of
currency capital will be more effectively, which could optimize social resources allocation,
making economy runs into a virtuous cycle.
Further more, financial industry is an important lever of the modern society that adjusting
macro–economy. It can reflect economy activity of thousands of public institutions more
