My fellow readers, in the novel Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, we are
lucky enough to meet a fine man by the name of Guy Montag. He is a
firefighter, who does not love those, who is content with his life. We also get to
meet his wife, Mildred, who is infatuated with ‘the family’, TV, over other
genuine people. This novel is set in the future where books are banned, and
punishable by burning. Their firemen in this time were not in the business of
putting out fires more than they were there to burn the books.
The rising action begins, in my opinion, when the lovely Clarisse walks
into Montag’s life, and asks him a question that would stump him; is he really
happy? The question does not seem like it should be all that hard to answer,
