In 2015, Facebook was named the number one company with the best company
culture (Gillet, 2015). There is no way a company can be awarded the title for best
company culture, over infamous company culture’s such as Google, without having
an extremely effective leader. As one of the youngest CEO’s, Mark Zuckerberg has
been able to grow Facebook into a $155 billion dollar company over the past 10
years, as well as being noted for having one of the fastest growth rates and happiest
employees (Walter, 2014).
There are multiple facets that create Zuckerberg’s leadership style that contribute to
the success of the company. Firstly, Zuckerberg leads in a democratic style. This
describes a leader who allows his employees to contribute in decision-making and
goal-setting for the organization. It also describes a leader who is able to delegate
authority and integrate feedback to coach employees to work at their most efficient
