“Journey Into The Whirlwind” is a tantalizing memoire by Eugenia Ginzburg that
paints a vivid picture of the hardships, sacrifices, and injustices that ravaged Russia from
the inside out. During the start of 1937, Ginzburg is arrested and is politically naïve to
how the government is ran since she expects the government to represent the people,
which is the bedrock of communism. The lens in which Ginzburg views communism
