The lecture and the listening are about universal risk-taking personality. Both mainly discuss
three points about psychologic theories regarding this type of personality.
First of all, according to the lecture, there are people who engage in risky activities in all
aspects of their lifes without reasons or rewards. The speaker of the listening disagrees
because he thinks that this risky attitude could be in some parts of your life but it does not
mean that you have the same attitude in all of them. You can enjoy extreme sports and you do
not like to be risky with your money or your family.
Secondly, the lecture explains the connection between the extreme behaviour and suicidal
tendencies, called thanatos. The passage explains that it is an illogical and pathological
