Stakeholders are the employees, management and Scott who is the accountant of the
company. The ethical issue Scott had come across is that he gave his projection of sales.
The company according to his projection increase the production and brought some
changes in the workforce. But after few months Scott realizes that the projection is wrong
and would not be profitable but fortunately it worked and the profit even exceeds his
projection. Now he’s in ethical dilemma that he should tell the management that he was
wrong in his projection. But his promotion would be on stake if he do that. However,
ethically he should have told the management as soon he knows about the mistake because
if the decision wouldn’t work it would affect the whole company, the workers, the
management and also to him too. It’s easy to let go the option of confessing his mistake
but if someone would figure it out he would be in problem. Therefore, it’s better for him to
let the management know that his projection didn’t work. The possible alternatives for
Scott are either to keep his mouth shut and enjoy his promotion or confess his mistake and
proves his honesty towards the company which is ethically the correct path to choose. To
not to confess your mistake and let it go would be harmful in the long run, some way or
the other. if someone else would tell about it to the employer it could held against you
some severe charges but if you would confess it yourself than for sure your honestly would
