The Ethics of Population Control
Some countries are worried that there will be too big of a population for Earth to handle
in the future. As of 2015, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s annual projections, the United
States holds 320,090,857 people and Earth holds more than 7.2 billion. The world population is
growing at a rate of just over one percent. Third world countries have the highest fertility rate in
the world. Some countries use coercive population control methods including China and India.
These countries place restrictions on child birth due to a scarcity of resources and space. China’s
