In this assignment we are asked to look at a scenario for a company that makes custom
frames. The scenario depicts two separate interactions between a production manager named
Nicholas and a production employee named Berta. In the first interaction Nicholas is quick to
dismiss the quality issue that Berta brings up and in the second interaction he blames Berta and
her team for not spotting the quality control problem. When Berta tries to explain that she did
bring it up he fires back that she should have done more to bring it to his and everyone’s
attention and states that someone may be fired for this issue. Berta is taken aback and feels that
she should not be fired or held responsible for an issue she reported. Berta feels that she needs to
go to HR right away and report what happened, so she is not the one that is blamed.
At first glance there are many issues that I see in this scenario, first of which is the
dismissal of Berta by Nicholas in the first interaction, as her manager and the production
