I think Scott Lewis Tell Tom that he will inform Tom’s superior if Tom goes ahead with his
plan. Scott Lewis is an engineer his duty is to inspect ABC’s chemical waste stored in a
ware house when he identified the leaking drums and the method of want to disposing the
chemical it to totally violation of law and actions against environment because Law forbids
returning chemical waste to the home site and it for the good of environment. The total
case is an act of utilitarianism. In the notion of consequences the Utilitarian includes all of
the good and bad produced by the act, whether arising after the act has been performed or
during its performance. If the difference in the consequences of alternative acts is not
great, some Utilitarian’s do not regard the choice between them as a moral issue. Scott act
will be morally right if the outcome is positive. So he has to act for greater good weather
it’s morally right or wrong.
Though tom convinced Scott that he can handle this situation .Scott must act ethically, tell
toms superior that tom is violating the law and the reputation of ABC will be in danger
because the waste will spread in other areas and it will create difficulties for surroundings
and living creatures and also the superiors have the right to know about this situation .If we
think tom is really good for handling this kind of situation still he is breaking the law. Scott
is in ethical dilemma if he help tom for the waste disposal for saving ABCs reputation and
money and on the other hand he is violating the law that’s against ethical values and his
job is to inspection so he have to act in this situation. So it will be better if Scott tell Tom
to consult with the superior then they can reach a decision. And Scott can easily do that
because he is not under Tom. So that increase his responsibility if Tom agrees they can
take a decision about dispose of waste in a legal ways. So they need a good discussion
between them. Without proper way of disposal this waste can create harmful effect to the
environment.
Scott is trained for inspection and if Scott doesn’t act in this situation it will be against the
