Exercise 1 Essay

Question 1: Going through this exercise, as the decision maker, you were asked to look at
the facts from various ethical perspectives, one from each ethical lens (as introduced on
page 2 of this exercise). Describe what perspective appealed to you the most. After
practicing, what is the value of changing perspective?
While working on this exercise, I was able to understand each ethical perspective,
Rights/Responsibilities, Results, Relationships, and Reputation. The most important
perspective to me would have to be Relationships. Many situations I had to read and pick
the best answer for had a lot to do with relationships. The Relationship Lens states that it is
a traditional family of theories that focus on Justice, those who favor this perspective focus
on the playing field of their community to seek justice for those without power of voice.
Relationship perspective appealed to me the most because It seems to be the one
perspective that has a voice for everyone involved in the situations being upheld in this
activity. For example when the company was discussing the best way to keep their
customers happy. “Our customers bought a subscription to our game under certain terms.
The terms do state that the service can change, but I don’t want to abuse that capability. If I
were in the customer’s place, I would want us to maintain the privacy policy. We can
discuss your method for future products.” This shows Relationship because the company
