Ethical Dilemma
When it comes to analyzing the ethical dilemma of “free gifts” the first step is
recognizing there is a dilemma and or question. I feel as though in this situation it is recognizable
that there is bribery occurring between, myself in this case, and the representative from a
company that I do business with. Sure, it may seem so nice of him to give me a two-hundred-
dollar gift certificate to Kincaids restaurant and 4 tickets to the Bruce Springsteen concert, but
what’s his benefit? Should I accept this bribery, or not?
Many people would be impacted, including myself, my company that I am ordering
supplies for, will me ordering from this certain distributor cost them more money in the long
run? Along with the representative and his company, how much more money will they make if I
do decide to continue to do business with them? Will their prices inflate over time compared to
