What makes a good citizen?
America has roughly 324.60 million citizens, but what makes them good? Is it by their wiliness to obey
laws, likelihood to vote in both primary and general elections, or participation in community activities?
While all these are aspects of a good citizen, the leading characteristic that makes a good citizen is
simply attitude. Lives, communities, and nations revolve around attitude. Pageant woman are criticized
by “world peace” answers; however, the underlying theme of this answer is the definition of a good
citizen. A good citizen is one who strives to better himself every day, for if we each strive for excellence,
refusing to stay mediocre, we will consequently make the world great. Mike Smith lives by the quote,
“We must speak for the silent and stand for the broken.” This quote outlines good citizenship. While
taking an active part in the democracy is a key, living a life of purpose is a good citizens goal. Once we let
go of our differences and come together as one we can reach new levels. A good citizen is willing to help
others even when it is not the ‘cool’ thing to do; a good citizen is not afraid to shatter the cultural norm
in order to help others. Americas roots are founded on freedom and equal opportunity. A good citizen
bears the quality of tenacity to break down the defining walls that our founding fathers never intended
to be built in this land of the free and home of the brave.
What makes a good leader
A good leader possesses many qualities. A good leader is honest, trustworthy, courageous, diligent, and
organized. However, above all the ‘typical’ qualities of leader, a good leader is willing to sacrifice. Many
leaders are selfish, they lead for the goal of winning or getting recognized. A great leader knows that he
