Born in 1856, in the town of Freiberg, Moravia; which is now the town of Pribor,
Sigmund Freud was born into a rather poor family. When Freud was born, his mother was only
20 years old while his father was age 40. Freud settled in the town of Vienna for the remainder
of his life. As a child, Freud always excelled in his work. His parents favored Freud and pushed
him to be the best that he could be. He was very advanced at a young age and continued
throughout his high school years and beyond to excel in his studies. In medical school Freud
stumbled across a problem. He became addicted to cocaine, which then was not illegal and
continued to use it into his middle-aged years and then retired it to drinking wine. A lot of which
Freud wrote about was based off his own childhood experiences. He talks about his own sex life,
neurotic episodes, dreams, and even when he came to America.
