Utilizing Technology to Render Marketing More Efficient
Technology has always been at the forefront of advancement of civilization, and the way
that we do business. As technological advancements have allowed for new products and services
to be invented throughout time, so has it allowed for new ways for individuals to market their
products. Technological developments have continued to exponentially increase over time,
further expediting aspects of business such as supply chain and marketing and service reach. In
this most recent era, a large percentage of retail is done online, and companies must be aware of
that and utilize new strategies in order to grow their customer base and stay competitive in this
new data driven environment and technologically engaged world. Business must continue to
adapt and apply new technology in order to keep a competitive edge, and continue to appeal to
consumers on a personal level. As technology continues to impact and provide benefit to many
aspects of daily life, marketers have started implementing technological developments into the
way they appeal to their consumers. These developments encapsulate a wide scope and variety of
advancements that can plug into numerous facets of business, but most specifically, can be
utilized to effectively understand consumers and appeal to them in a unique way, and not a one
size fits all approach. Artificial Intelligence and mining of consumer data using advanced data
interpretation technology and data analytics software is allowing businesses to market more
specifically, and tailor their product offerings to potential and existing consumers. This has been
met with pushback by those who are comfortable with the status quo, but an effective business
must be willing to adapt and change with the times in order to stay one step ahead, because
stagnation will eventually become failure while other companies continue to innovate and push
the boundaries of business and commerce. While some argue that there is not a significant
benefit to using technology to understand consumer trends and needs, technological
developments have allowed businesses to understand consumers lifestyle patterns and
demographics, market to customers on a personal level, and interpret data to better understand
consumer behavior in order to grow their business and gain a competitive edge in the business
world.
