Analysis of Rafael Story
Cristina Henríquez, in her book, The Book of Unknown Americans, depicts Rafael as
an immigrant from Panama. Rafael feels that his position in his family comes as a blessing
while, at the same time, brings its challenges. In his desire to visit Panama once again after a
long time for a high school reunion, his friends tease him for being a “gringo royalty”
