The Effect of Social Media on Interpersonal Relationships
According to social sciences, an Interpersonal relationship can be described as an
association between two or more individuals. This is an argumentative essay that proposes
that social media platforms which include Facebook Twitter, Instagram among others are the
tools that can be used to develop a positive social relationship with the society. The counter-
argument indicates that social networking platforms have been the hindrance to interpersonal
relationships.
It is no doubt that, Social networks have become popular, hence fulfilling the way
people communicate and interact. Facebook and Twitter have over a billion users around the
world. The platforms ensure that user is also instant audience as well as attention. These are
the things that many people need in their personal relationships. There is the feeling of
luxury, confidence, and freedom to share different kinds of information ranging from
business to romantic relationships. Despite the existence of barriers such as distance and
language, it is easy to locate and reconnect with each other on these platforms. Platforms
such as Twitter enhance the development of users as the work to relate to the world. The
more people get used to chatting and sharing ideas with their social media friends, the more
they learn how to understand them in diverse personalities.
It is important to emphasize that Social media platforms can also be sourced
uncertainty and of anxiety. In most cases, communications through the social sites might be

ambiguous which in turn might result in suspicion and anxiety. There is that likelihood of
some users creating a negative path for feedback which might generate a route for
surveillance between partners. Such issues have been destabilizing relationships. Best goes
ahead to state that “Facebook does not qualify for anxious people.” However, the article does
not provide comprehensive elaboration for that matter. It is essential for the author to indicate
that by maybe taking a lot of time on social media can have a negative impact on
interpersonal relationships. This can form a formidable ground as to why Facebook, In
particular, does not qualify for anxious people. A significant level usage of Facebook and
other social media platforms connect people to unwanted results such as termination of
marriage and other relationships. The results are known to have been pushed by conflicts and
