Bump, Set, Spike!
Blood pumping with adrenaline, ankles aching, muscles on fire, and out of breath. On
the other side of the net you see that power hitter launch herself into the air, challenging me with
fiery eyes, daring me to block the shot. I gather up all the energy I have left, line up the block
and jump as high as I can, throwing my hands over the net to feel the ball ricochet off me and hit
the ground n their side of the court. It just makes me wanna laugh and yell, “Sucker!” Because
