Worldview Essay
Worldview is best described as the way you view the world based on your
emotions…etc.I agree with the article social biases by Christopher Dicarlos because of personal
experiences that have happened in my life. What influenced me the most was social media and
news. Some major assumptions and beliefs that one might expect to find in someone’s worldview
are beliefs, values, culture, family, and friends. We should be aware of our worldview to stay away
from black and white thinking because we need to be more open minded. Black and white
thinking impact people’s life because they tend to use it too much and it impacts their quality of
life.
Scientists believe that ever since the 1830s, humans have been making significant changes
to our planet’s climate. As we became more industrialized, our environment has begun soaking
up more and more of our carbon emissions. Rising temperatures, melting glaciers, and the
acidification of our oceans are a few of the major impacts of our neglect towards the health of the
Earth. The ability for companies to use non renewable energy sources like coal with such ease
makes them much more indifferent to the thought of using renewable energy sources like solar
and wind. As companies grow larger and larger, their ability to make changes to our government
changes as well, meaning that they can make the rules, like decreasing regulation on how much
they have to abide by the rules regarding clean energy. All of this leads to the larger companies
benefitting off the changes to the government, while the people suffer from an increasingly

unliveable planet. Resolutions such as the Green New Deal, seeks to change that by addressing
climate change and social inequality. It provides resources to “transition from an economy built
on exploitation and fossil fuels to one driven by dignified work and clean energy,” (Sierra
Club,2019). Communities that have less resources are unfairly impacted by this change in our
environment, while corporate businesses profit off of carbon emissions and fossil fuels
(Kurtzleben,2019). The Green New Deal offers to minimize pollution and provide more
life-sustaining jobs, and increase water and air purification. In this deal to lessen the climate
crisis, policies such as the California Buy Clean law, enacted in 2017, requires the state to ally
with climate-aware companies when spending tax-dollars. This deal and similar policies could
