Essay #1
All it takes is one event to completely start a movement such as the civil rights
movement. The death of Emmett Till was such a controversial event to occur, that left
room for a lot of creative advances to be made as a reflection of what occurred. Even the
legendary Rosa Parks kept Emmett Till’s name in her head as motivation to fight for her
culture. Langston Hughes in the poem “Mississippi – 1955” never directly speaks about the
