Escobar
The monsters that hide under our bed and dreams are only there momentarily. As soon as
you wake up they’re gone. In the 80’s and early 90’s a whole country was victim to a real-life
monster known as Pablo Escobar. A monster that when you woke up was still giving you
nightmares and bringing terror to your country. A real-life monster is a person who makes you
think twice about leaving your house not knowing if you’re going to end up dead or not, a person
who gives you the feeling of hopelessness because you don’t know who to turn to, a murder and
thief who at the cost of other people lives wanting money and power. Pablo Escobar exploited
Columbia while killing and murdering people for money and power and was the biggest monster
of the 80’s.
Pablo Escobar was born on December 1st 1949 in a small poor village of RioNegro in
Columbia. His father was a peasant farmer and mother a school teacher. Escobar at an early age
said he wanted to become president of Columbia. Escobar differed from many people in his
village, his drive and ambition to get out of poverty lead him to a life of crimes and killings.
Pablo’s crime life started with making fake high school diplomas and selling them off to people.
He escalated the crime ladder from forging to stealing, Pablo started stealing cars and after
