This is an individual project, which you would need to do on your own. The project requires you
to write an essay, which is to be graded by three other peers. This essay has three parts. First,
you would need to think of a company that is planning to upgrade its current legacy system to an
ERP system. This could be based on either a real world business situation or an imagined
scenario that you create. You can describe the background of the company, its operations, and
why it is looking at upgrading its legacy systems.
Second, based on this business scenario, you would assess and discuss about the
functionalities desired in the new ERP system. Also, explain in your paper why the business
could benefit from this set of features.
In the final part of your essay, imagine that your firm of choice has chosen to procure an
enterprise system. Use the knowledge gained from our class to develop an action plan on how
you would shortlist and select the enterprise software, and manage change during its
implementation, using the tools and concepts learned in the course.
