A1: What Makes An Entrepreneur
From Fundamentals For Becoming A Successful Entrepreneur: From Business Idea to Launch and
Management (Brannback & Carsrud 30):
“Think of the entrepreneurs whom you know personally. How did they discover or create their opportunity? Did
they prepare a business plan, or did they have a plan “in mind”, which was not written formally? Did they have to
revise the plan, how many times, and what were the reasons for revision. Did they consider the possibility of
failure? Was there something in the process of creating the firm that they had overlooked? What was the biggest
surprise?”
A. Answer the questions above
B. Craft a mission statement for your potential company
C. Craft a vision statement and/or values statement for your potential company
A.
I decided to interview my cousin since he owns a photography company. For the first question, he said that he
identified a need and found his resources, so he could create his opportunity. He did not prepare or have a business
plan “in mind”, he just wanted to make some money and that was the plan. He considered the possibility of failure
but did not allow that to stop him from achieving his goal. Paying taxes and figuring out how much it would cost
just to make a dollar was something he overlooked. Lastly, he mentioned that the amount of competition was
extremely surprising and unexpected.

Our mission is to provide an enjoyable experience. Our goal is to capture stories in the form of images. Photographs
have the power to help you relive a specific moment in time and recall all the exact emotions and details
surrounding all your cherished moments. When we work with you on a photo project, our goal is to provide you
with photographic records of those memorable moments. We want you to be able to look back at your photos years
from today and be able to relive those moments in time. The only thing we require of our clients is that you relax
and let us focus on you.
