1. What ethical principals did Enron executives violate? – Use your text terminology to explain.
Enron executives violated many ethical principals, especially their corporate social
responsibility which states they must do right by the people and the community affected
by the companies activities. The state of California was greatly hurt by the Enron
executive’s greed. The energy was constantly toyed with by the traders, which greatly
affected the people. California would go through black outs that were purposely
caused, this hurt the people, the community, and the state.
2. What happened to Ken Lay?
Ken Lay was indicted and found guilty of many counts of securities fraud, wire fraud, and
of making false statements. His sentencing was scheduled for October 23rd, 2006,
however on July 5th of that year, while in Colorado Lay died of a heart attack. Lay was
named the 3rd worst American CEO of all time.
3. What happened to Jeff Skilling?
Ken Lay hired Jeff Skilling to take his company up to new levels. Unfortunately Skilling led
it to bankruptcy and jail. Skilling was convicted of felony charges. He was indicted on
over 30 counts of fraud, conspiracy, making false statements, and insider trading. He
