People usually think that once a bad situation occurs it’s just going to get worst but that
may not always be the case. We have all encountered bad situations in our lives that later
turned out to lead to good things. Any negative situation can cause a big positive impact not
just on you but on your family & those who surround you as well.
3 years ago, my family and I lived in Long Island, New York. Never in a million years
would it cross our mind that we would experience a bad situation there, but one day it did. One
beautiful afternoon after coming home from school, I see my dad asleep on the couch. My
father usually got home around 5pm every day. But on this day, he was home extra early. Once
I saw him just lying there I said to myself well maybe they let him come home early today. My
mom had went out & arrived at the house with so many different medications. I asked her what
they were for and she said they were for my dad. I was a bit confused as in why he needed so
many medications, but then I found out why. As my dad started to wake up he started to
complain about the pain he was feeling, and my mother’s eyes started to water. I didn’t know
what was going on, so I went into my sister’s room and she told me to try and be as quiet
around my dad as possible because he needed rest. I asked her why everyone was being so
mysterious, and she explained to me that my dad had an accident at work. My father’s job was
to repair building and house roofing’s. In order to repair the roofs, he had to lift rolls of roof
material that were about 80 pounds on his back and had to carry it up a ladder to get it up to
the top. Once at the top he tried to put down a roll of material when he just instantly collapsed
to the floor. He wasn’t able to get up and had to be rushed to the hospital. Once at the hospital
they contacted my mom and told her that my father had broken two discs from his lower back
due to the excessive weight. They explained that he wouldn’t be able to walk and that he
