In this article Morell-Hart talks about how food is an active component in life during
times of plenty and times of extreme scarcity. She states how foodways are hard to dislodge
even when resources are scarce. In the article, it is explored how different approaches
contribute to starvation management. It demonstrates how different cultures use food and
