In the past 20 years, I was always a fast learner whenever I study something, a cute
daughter in my parents and all their friends’ eyes, a good listener in all my
relationships. But these were not enough for me. Before I entered the college, I was
lack of confidence and always think that I am not good enough.
I still remember the first presentation that I’ve made in my freshman year, it was
horrible. I did all the work a week before the presentation and even wrote down what
I am going to say during the presentation. But when that day comes, I stood on the
stage in front of more than 50 people. My mind went all blank and there were clouds
everywhere in it. I couldn’t remember anything that I’m going to say. I messed it up in
a certain way. After that I used to think that I’m still unprepared and my PowerPoint
could be better to help me memorize my key point. But after several times of failure, I
realized that it was only a few thing about PowerPoint and to make a better
presentation, the key point is to be more confident. Lack of confidence not only
bothers me when I make a presentation, but also has a bad influence towards my
whole life. People always say that one should have confidence to make you successful,
but it’s always harder to do than to say.
