I. Title of the Activity
Empowerment of Young Filipino: Development of Physiological and
Cognitive Aspects
II. Rationale
Education is not just all about how an individual can read and write, but also for
them to use it in their own advantage and to utilize the kowledge for their growth.
Every child has the right to be educated. Children at their earliest ages should learn
and realize the importance of education in their lives. It helps them to facilitate and
enhance their learnings, knowledge, skills and even their attitude and personality
as a person. Education also leads every children towards to their own future and
success in life. Aside for the knowledge brought forth by education, poor health
and malnutrition is one of the major problems of our society and a great factor that
affects children’s school performance. Child’s health and nutrition are strongly
associated with educational achievement. It is hard for the children to learn if they
are not in a good and healthy condition, because healthy nutrition radically
improves children’s cognitive function and measurable academic achievement.
The group will conduct a tutorial and feeding program for the elementary
student of Puting Lupa Elementary School which is located at Makiling Calamba,
Laguna. The school hold a total of 316 elementary students and reported to have
an average school performance. The said program aims to impart essential
knowledge in academics through tutoring which will be useful in their studies and
improve performance in school. The tutors would prepare a fun, engaging and
informative program which is important to catch the attention of the students.
Furthermore, a feeding program will be followed in order to give basic nutrition to
the students especially to the 20% of the student’s population who are under

malnutrition level.The group promises to continuously share efforts and support to
the institution’s academic growth and health condition in order to stabilize the
student’s school experience , creating a better academic environment for them.
III. Objectives
General Goal:
This activity aims to empower the young generation physically and mentally,
particularly the students of Puting Lupa Elementary School, through feeding
program and tutorials.
Focus area #1: Physical Health
Specific objectives:
Here are the specific objectives for the first focus area. At the end of the
activity, the group will be able to:
Determine the percentage of malnourished children at Puting Lupa
Elementary School
Prepare nutritious meals that will improve the physical condition of
the students
Reduce by 50% the number of students that are experiencing
malnutrition in Puting Lupa Elementary School
Appreciate their active participation in the said activity
Focus area #2: Cognitive Aspect
Specific objectives:
Here are the specific objectives for the second focus area. At the end of
the activity, the group will be able to:

Determine and improve the current academic performance of the
students
Determine effective teaching techniques varying on the level of
education and type of leaners
Seek sponsors for books and supports for the establishment of
ancillary rooms in which the school lack of as stated by the Ms.
Arlene M. Aala, the principal.
Seek for volunteer tutors in order to accommodate the whole
population.
Appreciate their active participation in the said activity
